Ovena

Medical sources

The same list is inside the app, under Settings → Medical sources, and under every term it explains.

Ovena explains 110 clinic terms. Every one of them is written from the published sources below, and every source is linked so you can read it yourself.

Ovena does not calculate doses, interpret results or predict outcomes, and nothing in the app is medical advice. Where your clinic's instructions differ from anything here, your clinic's instructions are the ones that apply to you.

How the cycle ring is laid out

Ovena draws the phases of a cycle in the usual order and spacing described in the ESHRE ovarian stimulation guideline — for example egg retrieval about 36 hours after the trigger injection, and a blastocyst transfer about five days after retrieval. This is a default layout, not a plan: every date in the app comes from the protocol you type in, and you can change any of it.

The on-device summary is not cited

On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, Ovena can add one plain-language sentence written on the device itself. That sentence is generated rather than quoted, so it carries no citation — it is shown separately, labelled, and marked as something that can be wrong and is not medical advice. Everything above is shown whether or not that sentence appears.
