Last updated 21 August 2026 · Applies to the Ovena iOS app and this website
Ovena collects no personal data. Not a little — none. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. This page explains what that means in practice, and the few things worth knowing anyway.
What Ovena stores
Everything you type into the app is stored on your device only: your cycles and their dates, the medications and doses you enter, appointments, daily notes and symptoms, and any wish you choose to write when a cycle closes.
None of it is transmitted anywhere. The app contains no networking code at all — it makes no requests to us or to anyone else, because there is nothing for it to make requests to. We operate no server that receives your data, so we could not read it even if we wanted to.
What we receive about you
Nothing. We do not know that you installed the app. We do not know your name, your email, your clinic, your treatment or its outcome. There is no crash reporting, no analytics SDK, and no advertising identifier. The app contains no third-party libraries.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally by iOS from the protocol you entered. They are created on your device and delivered by your device. No reminder passes through a server. If you decline notification permission, the app still works — it simply cannot remind you.
One thing worth knowing: a reminder shows the name of the medication it is for, so that name can appear on your lock screen. If you would rather it did not, you can turn off notification previews in iOS Settings under Notifications.
Explaining clinical terms
The app can explain terms from your clinic paperwork in plain language. On supported devices this runs through Apple's on-device model, entirely on your iPhone. The text you are asking about is not uploaded, and no request is made to us or to any AI service over the network. On devices that do not support it, the feature is simply unavailable.
Tips and payments
Ovena is free, and every feature stays free. After a cycle closes with a positive result, and only then, the app offers an optional tip. Tips unlock nothing.
If you choose to leave one, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, your name, or your Apple Account. We do not store a record of who tipped — the app only remembers that it already asked, so it does not ask twice.
Backups
If you have iCloud Backup or encrypted device backups enabled, your app data may be included in those backups, the same as any other app on your phone. Those backups are between you and Apple; we have no access to them. Ovena itself does not sync anything to iCloud.
Children
Ovena is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone — including children — because it collects no data at all.
Deleting your data
Two ways. Inside the app, Settings → Erase everything deletes every cycle, note and wish on the device. Or delete the app, which removes its data with it. Because we hold nothing, there is no request to send us and nothing for us to delete on our side.
This website
This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. It loads a web font from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's font servers and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change ever meant that Ovena started collecting something, it would be announced in the app before it took effect — not buried here.
